i have a jerk wol idea in the back of my head (he's an m!viera) that is founded on the idea of "what kind of within-reason jerk can still be the warrior of light (and not a total cartoon villain) but have like all the scions justifiably unable to stand him or want to be around him by the endwalker patches via various interpersonal conflicts" (i think this is a reaction to how many "my wol hates the scions and they arent friends and the scions view my wol as an object" concepts i see. like what would the opposite be?). he's very self-centered and kind of vain and sort of callous. he firmly believes that he is the best person in the room and that no problems are ever his fault. bad at working with other people and at collaborating. complains. probably the worst person to make the champion of the world but well you're all stuck with him now because he time-traveled and god knows he's the special boy. timeloop.

anyway i think he and thancred were fwb back in ARR and then picked it back up in HVW patches while thancred was like extremely depressed and miserable and it was very unhealthy for thancred meanwhile [wol] (i dont have a name for him yet) was just like "can you be fun again. god you're so boring now. can you lighten up". anyway flash forward to shb, they meet up again, they're resting in the bookman's shelves before traipsing about il mheg, [wol] and thancred are left alone together as urianger goes and shows the twins where to sleep (ryne goes with). [wol] is like "you cleaned yourself up, excellent, let's resume our arrangement" and thancred is like "oh. uh. sorry. no thanks" and [wol] is like "What? Why." and thancred's like "i'm... spoken for now" "Who." "...urianger. we've grown close." "HIM? that dumpy little thing? pull the other one." "i'm serious." "... you really have let your standards fall since you've been stuck here, huh." "excuse me?" "it's just - (snort) you know. the fancy new outfit doesn't really hide a plain face. and the way he talks..." "i would appreciate it if you wouldn't talk about him like that." "i'm just speaking my mind. being honest. but i guess you're not that into honesty, if you're into that." they almost start yelling but then urianger comes back and is like "... is aught amiss?" and thancred says "no. right?" and [wol] eyerolls and says "i'll just leave you two alone since i'm not wanted" and urianger is just like ??? and thancred is >:/ (they aren't Together Officially yet actually)

i think y'shtola hated his vibes since day 1 and views him as an annoying necessity but mostly keeps that under wraps. during hvw patches he's rude to matoya and she doesn't like that. then she tries to confront him about how he's kind of using thancred but he doesn't react well and he says something kind of shitty about her not being able to see and from then on they both know they dislike each other and it is very chilly between them. they are both self-assured enough to cope fine with it but they never talk about anything outside of Work unless y'shtola is trying to go like "you can't fucking do that, you're being an asshole to my friends" (confrontational and direct personality trait) and he blows her off like Whatever, i know you hate me, im not going to listen to anything you say. i think of all the scions she hates him the most

g'raha i think really idolized him from all the books and stories and thought he was really cool and confident and handsome back during the CT raids and then throughout shb patches and endwalker gets the rose-colored glasses stripped away. the crush dies. [wol] thought he was cute but kind of dumb and thought about starting something up since g'raha seemed willing but never did.

Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail done, here's some MSQ spoiler thoughts:

I've had XIV on ice for a while so I was going into it as a casual and not a diehard fangirl but still I am shocked and disappointed by how bored I was during the whole thing… And annoyed, which is a bigger crime. Constantly wondering why characters act like they do or why they aren't asking about X.

Alphinaud and Alisae did nothing and they were both an eyesore with their old outfits, dressing them in local threads would've been so easy and a cute way to buff the immersion of visiting a new continent. (To be fair I guess they HAVE to tag along even if the writer doesn't want them there due to Trusts? I'd argue Krile and Erenville were just pieces of furniture until the very last stretch too but they were at least interested in the same goal as Wuk Lamat so they didn't feel out of place.)

My fav stuff is interacting and bonding with characters new and old but it doesn't feel like we got much of that? Trying to picture what people will even draw fanart of for DT of and all my mind's eye can see is Wuk Lamat lovers drawing WoLship art or just her looking cute and/or hot. (Also Erenville looking cute and/or hot.)

Doing a "sweet girl turns into massive threat" right after a "sweet girl turns into massive threat" expansion is rather brazen but it is a Classic so whatever. Would've been neat if she was an adult woman instead.

I could probably rant about several particular moments but I can feel myself slowly starting to morph into a WORST expansion EVER red-arrow-and-circle YouTube thumbnail which would be rather unsexy of me so I'll go ahead and choose happiness by listing the things I enjoyed instead;

Starting with the incredible lvl 93 weapons!!!! They all look like bland NPC pieces which is something super rare in this game, such a breath of fresh air. The NIN daggers especially is pure 10/10 and I was even considering changing my never-glamming-it-away ARR longbow into the new BRD one. The new sets are good too, I'm not much for scifi-y gear but the ones you get before Solution 9 are very nice and the aiming top gave my lizard a very lovely waist. I was really lucky to get the golden bangle hand drop that all Tuliyollal NPCs wear so I could fit in proper :3 Tweaking my main glam slightly to blend into each new areas better was a big source of fun.

Zoraal Ja bringing back an SSR Alpaca made me chuckle.

The moblin pot contract stuff is very endearing, basically they are keeping a crafter as a personal pet to love and pamper so they can do their best work? Such a cute Human Cattle aligned setup even though it's a mutual agreement and not actual ownership.

I liked the little merchant/seller skit we do with Koana even if my main glee was just seeing him wear something that didn't clash with his teal hair.

I perked up during the cooking contest introduction since it seemed like the chance for shenanigans was high, but they didn't really play around with it. At least we got Alisae musing to herself about Zuraal Ja and Baka Ja Ja in matching aprons 👌 Is the Fu awakening in you, my girl…?

Bakool Ja Ja doing his best to help out and getting a little flustered when receiving thanks after having been a stupid miserable bully that pretty much set off a nuke willy-nilly was nice, but only bcs I tend to clap like a seal no matter what when this trope appears. Since I am choosing happiness I'm not gonna comment more on his character.

The play was delightful as was the FF9 town wink in general (I also laughed for the wrong reasons at poor Otis doing a voice gag in an unvoiced cutscene, at least it still got the gist across well.)

Blessed be. It was rather predictable him and Wuk Lamat would end up as a duo ruler pair to cover each other's weaknesses, but her energetic public marriage proposal and stone carving to truly show off their union ran with the premise more than what I had braced for!

Love him feeling super jealous and obviously having been crying in the shower over WoL getting asked about a place in his sister's court [before he knew he had a place too] and then later him also clearly feeling threatened when she states that she views the WoL as one of her beloved siblings too. So pathetic clearly wanting to be the only Brother™ in her life ❤

I was kinda eyes emoji at Zoraal Ja too when he was staring at his sister with icy contempt, emboldened by my incest win when it came to the catboy I dared to dream that the oldest brother also harbored some obsessive feelings towards her that he didn't know how to handle, but that's not quite what happened… It's a shame we didn't get flashbacks of all those siblings together in various stages of life, I kept forgetting they were actually family so Wuk Lamat angsting over her evil brother made me go Oh Right every time I got reminded.

Lastly it wasn't quite part of the MSQ but the chuuni villain roundtable intro for the Role Quests was very silly (positive) and probably the most entertained I was during these past 4 days. Well, besides the actual trial fights being fun but I don't count those for story.

Ignoring the "human" faces and only going by the world the graphics/lighting update is very nice! My guy made it out OK but it stings a bit every time I see his mouth having had its charm nerfed. Very impressed by the not-Vanu Vanu, Horthgals and Mamool Jas facial expressions. However, hairstyles all look worse than before, so soft and "washed out"? I'm exaggerating for effect rn but Koana looks like he has a soft teal cloud as hair basically? And the twins' white hair is now too uniformly white without the darker hair strand lines…

The inn room is probably the nicest looking one we've gotten so far, both luxurious and cozy vibes. Always crack up seeing my Au Ra in bed nothing says relaxation like a super stiff coffin pose.

Quite bummed I couldn't find as much excitement as in previous expacks and I probably won't bother renewing sub for a while, but at least I already have other fandoms to keep me occupied.

I started leveling the Trust to 100 instead of crafting lol. I was like "You know what I haven't done yet? Level my Trust from 91 to 100! So let's do that instead of trying to make more money!"

I've sold 40 crit materia XIIs for this week lfg! XD I assumed that most of the Scions would just get their ARR fits. Pretty much everyone except for Urianger, Krile and Estinien. Urianger got his ARR fit in ShB and Estinien got his starter outfit as a glamour too. And Krile doesn't have an ARR fit for obvious reasons. But, yeah, my assumptions were wrong about those level 100 glamours being ARR fits. (Well, at least for G'raha, Alisaie and Alphinaud)

I'm so glad I was wrong! These outfits are crisp! (And I thought G'raha's Endwalker glamour was his best fit!) It made me feel out of place with my other glamour! So I had to change my gear! Yeah, these three are never taking these off. Well, maybe until the next expansion... I really hope that everyone else gets a summer vacation fit! It would be very awkward if only a few Scions get one! (I'm nervous that Krile will just end up getting her HW fit as her level 100 glamour! I hope not! D:)

"MCMC would wear this bunny outfit from Hiiro shuffle than that right ~?" Rinne push aira off as he held a mini version of bunny shuffle unit outfit of Hiiro with a wide grin.

"Hey!" Aira grumble as he was push off to the side by the rude Amagi. He pout and want to complain but his too scared of rinne would do to him if he did, Rinne Amagi is too unpredictable after all.

"Rinne-han your being rude to Rovey-han!" Kohaku, Aira best friend quickly smack Rinne in the back of his head, not caring if his the leader.

"Aww! Kohaku-chan being meany!" Rinne jested.

The two now fighting, through it's more one sided fight.

"MC do you wanna wear punisher outfit and lets punish all war criminals ~" Madara of course would not let the moment to pass to let you wear Double Face outfit with a fedora and a fake(?) Gun ( to accommodate his solo Unit, MaM ) too. Your eyes sparkle at the sight of the fake (?) Gun and reach out for it but before you could do so, Mayoi pulled you away.

"N-no! No gun! That's not f-fake at all!" He hugs you protectively as he look at the so called fake gun Madara offer to give you.

"Tks." Both Madara and you clicked your tongue as someone have discovered it.

"...oh gott..! W-why would you...?!" Mayoi quickly become very worried as his guess is correct he Suddenly can't help but want to...

"W-ahahajaja..! Who's tickling me..?!" Madara suddenly felt something tickling his sides and start laughing in the floor. He laugh so hard, it hurt. He can't even breath from the too much tickle!

"Ah... I'm such a bad person...!" Mayoi cried as he hugs you in his arms, he release Madara from being tickle torture by his strings that no one but him (As well HiMERU) can see. "It's okii, you don't do anything wrong. Madara probably have a little." You gesture a crazy in the head as you wipe Mayoi tears with your plushie limbs.

"I-... Oh my MC!" He suddenly have a lovesick gaze as he hugs you happily. You giggle as you let him hug you as long he want.

"...sometimes I wonder if MCchi have a fair love for everyone." Aira look at the view, don't know what to feel at all.

"Smh, everyone have fair love unless your that guy." Rinne sneakers as he point at Mayoi who happily spin you around and you giggle while being throw in the air.

"...hic.. that's so unfair!" Aira pout as he also want to snuggle with you, when everyone knows you'll stay as a doll for a month or so days. Aira quickly want to volunteer to have you as his room mate.

When everyone remember they have to go back to Ensemble squire for idol work the next day. No one would allow to leave you in the house unattended, so after Aira each one of them volunteer to have you sleep with them since it's fine to sneak in a doll with them.

Since many of them want to do so, they all choice by having to play rock paper scissors and Aira is hatefully the last one to get his chance when his the one who's suggested it!

"AiAi~" you suddenly run in your plushie legs to aira who quickly catch you before you lost balance and fall down. "mc~" he chipped back. You take the clothe from him and grin. "I'll wear your suggestion." You says as you hug the cloths.

"Ehhh~? Really?!" He can't help but hugs you, ah your so soft and fluffy! No wonder everyone wanna hugs you to bed!

"Rinrin give me the head piece." You look at Rinne who laugh as he give you the head piece you ask for and you Jump from Aira hands and went to another room (you did pick up something along the way but sneakingly hide it from view point of others ) to change. You quickly change your cloths as you mix and match the outfit together and went out after a while.

"Ùwú. How do I look!?" You went out a bit later after you made sure all it's fix and hide the item behind you.

"UWAHHH! MC SO CUTE! SO LOVELY!" Aira quickly felt an arrow shoot through his heart from cuteness.

"W-what that behind you...?" Mayoi is too captivate by your cuteness but he saw something shining behind you and cant help but gulp when he realize what it might be.

"I-is that a gun?!" He gasp, he thought he throw that gun far away from you yet you seems to manage to get it?! He worriedly look at the gun you try to hide behind you but clearly the red strap similar to double face have can be see linked to the Gun Madara offer earlier.

"Hehe. Expected of my child--" Madara chuckle proudly but Mayoi quickly turn to him and realized it was Madara who probably toast the gun to your direction when his distracted.

"Ahahaha- oh shit-- BWAHAHAHAHA - HELP SOMETHING TICKLING ME AGAIN!" Once again Madara is being tickle by the threads and once again KOed by too much tickles and laughter's in the floor.

Like a nice friend who accept Madara might have something wrong with his head, they all just accept it and let him laugh like a lunatic in the floor.

Obviously Mayoi takes the gun away but this time he throw it to his void. You clicked your tongue and pout. He held your plushie hands with embed paw mark.

"D-dont pout MC..." He pat your head. You snob him because your gun is taken away. "How would I protect myself then. Hmmp." You cross your arms and he can't help but blush at how cute you are being mad and pouting.

"I... Of course made sure you'll be safe if someone try to steals you away." He press your palm there's a knowing smile in his face. "So MC don't need a Gun. You just have to press your palm at the person pressure point and let ng little gift work for you." He giggle. "Through it only work for humans and would only be use a four times under one hour." He felt depress that he can't make a proper one that can help you if your being held captive by a dolls.

"Ehh! What did you put?" Your very curious about it and can't help but look at him waiting for him to reveal it but he only chuckle and won't tell more.

In the following day, you were taken with them in ensemble squire and it's Niki who's first to take care of you for the day. Since Niki is working in the kitchen, you just help him out by moving item near him when no one is around to look.

"Nice~ thanks MC~ " Niki says as he saw you wipe a cream on the pie that Is order by a certain Knight King. You giggle as you run to get another plate to put the new dish. Niki can't help but smile at his little helper in the kitchen! Through he does see that your fabric is getting dirtied with the ingredients accidentally dripping on your plushie body. Your whole face is cover with ketchup after you put lettering to Hiiro Omerice, a cute chibi picture of Rinne which Hiiro happily thank you for.

"I will wash you up once we're back in the dorm~" he suggested and you nodded your head and you two happily went to work again. It's a fun day and when you two come back to the dorm, you went pass certain itsuki shu who seems to be annoyed by certain someone and don't notice you.

"Ah shu." You mumble as you saw your previous employer. "You know em?" Niki ask as the two of you enter the share room he have with Hinata and Hiiro.

"MC~" Hinata quickly swift you off Niki hold and throw you up in the air and you giggle enjoying the attention and being thrown in the air. You two laugh and play around as Niki ready the tub.

"Okii~ time for bath!" Niki says as he look at you Hinata now watching Spy x family in his phone in his bed.

"Ooh! Time to bath the dirty MC~" Hinata beam as he look at you who's looking at Anya cute cloths and Yor outfit. Thinking you'll make one when your back to normal.

As Hinata carried you to the tub, he thought of what Mayoi said before you guys part ways from him from the house, he said he is being called by ninja club captain about a mission on working in a cafe today ( 1st gacha Mayoi feature card story ) to never let anyone wash you That is human.

Or have anything electronic near the water if they wash your plushie form. Very odd warning ' Hinata thought as he put you in the tub, you splash around giggling as sparkle and sound of voltage was heard by Hinata.

"... Holy shit." He now realize what the phantom mean, he did remember your sparkle clean and don't take a bath once when your in your plushie form because Mayoi is not letting a drop of dirt be tinting you at all. "Oh gosh, I'm so glad I'm not human." He mumble as he is able to continue to held you even through the water have a electric current and very dangerous high at that.

"What wrong?" You ask Hinata not noticing the spark around you as your playing with the huge bubbles. "Ahaha. MC just become a real life Pikachu." He laugh and you question him what he mean until you saw a lizard that accident fall from the ceiling and went drop to the water and it get electrified and cooked within seconds.

"......" Hinata and you look at the unfortunate flying lizard that died before it can even scream blood murder.

"Hey I smell a very delicious fried lizard here." Niki who went to get your spare cloths and smell the cooked lizard in the bathtub and pick it up. "Lucky~" he says as he about to eat such delicacy when Hinata slap it away. "Don't eat that!" Hinata says as the lizard went back to the water and now turn black as it's now too burnt

"...??? " Niki don't know what to think but suddenly he have a good idea.

"Wuwu you get message." You chipped as the phone open and a message from rinne asking if his ok since he stopped calling him and texting him every 10 minutes.

"Hello...!" Familiar voice of Kanata spoke, his a room mate of Rinne and saw someone calling the phone when rinne is being tortured by Hiyori about the latest gossip about pretty 5.

"Kanata!" You called but your out of the camera view.

"Ehh...? MC...? " Kanata called out trying to find you but he just see hiiro, a very surprised Pikachu face Hinata and Niki who just put all the content of the popcorn to his mouth in one go, like a gluttony.

"MC where are you...?" He even went to shake Rinne phone, maybe you'll appear. "It's so 'sad' I cannot see you." He felt dejected.

"Oh the phone is fully charge!" Hiiro says as he heard the notification and you give him the phone and hiiro use the back camera and you wave to Kanata as your finally in the view.

"Ooh! MC! How nice! Hello!" Kanata wave at you and you wave back. You two then chat puka puka song and clap your hands in glee. He don't seems to be bother that your in a doll form.

"...." - Hinata. ' A FAST CHARGER?!'

Suddenly Hinata cannot believe this at all. But then a grin appear in his face, he then went to get a box of toys and props under his bed and get a colorful light bulb balls

"MC!MC! Can you juggle this?" His eyes sparkle as he give you the mini balls and you thought about it and tried and hiiro continue the call and Kanata watch you try to juggle balls that glow when your paws touch them.

Through you did mistake many times you still manage to juggle 2-3 balls in the same time in the end. Hinata can't help but takes out more props that would work with electricity and the dorm room end up being light up with many color, someone have reported to Kaito about the noise coming from their room.

"Who's that~? WHAT A PRETTY DARLING DOLL!" Hiyori who finally let Rinne free after he gossip to him and saw Kanata is using Rinne phone and in call with someone. He saw you holding a Christmas light while you play jump rope with it.

"HIHI!" you wave to the stranger, not bother your been caught moving around in your doll form. Since you heard him say Darling Doll. His probably someone who know darling dolls to begin with. Through your only a pseudo darling doll.

"Today is ii hiyori!" Hiyori says as he wave at you back, happy that you seems very friendly. "I'm hiyori! I hope we get to be friends!" He did know his two roommate are darling dolls and very much accepting to such facts as darling dolls is a very interesting topic in high or rich social circle of people.

Especially when certain war criminal is looking for a certain dollmaker of darling dolls for years now after he discharge from the hospital but all trace of the person all disappear one day, he have to go to Mikejima if he really want to learn yet Madara and his family refuse to let any Information about the dollmaker leak out after it's purge, years ago.

( The things you left to do in the past after you help out Kaname-- is to destroy anything or all of connection and information being a dollmaker after being recognized by two people, so no one would seek out your child self about the dollmaker business and be abuse about it, you did ask Madara help again. You only left once Madara give you a signal everything is erase. )

"I'm MC! Nice to meet you!" You said as you wave at him and dis a very cute pose and he went and ss the very moment with his quick hands. His so going to make it his wallpaper later!

"Oioi! Is that my phone?" Rinne who just enter the room saw his phone being use by those two and quickly snatch it away from Hiyori when hiyori is asking you to Do kiyomi dance.

"!!??" Hiyori saw red when he don't get to see you dance as Rinne already taken the phone and made a war cry and grab hold the pillow and start a fight. "HOW DARE YOU STEAL THE PHONE! CRIMINAL! AHH!!"

he then proceed smack Rinne till he give back the phone.

"A bad guy? Ah! Ranger blue would help!". Kanata joined the fun and beat up Rinne with his own stuff toy.

"HEY IT'S MY PHONE OK--- HEY WATCH IT!" Rinne exclaim.

The camera view become a view of a glimpse of Rinne trying to run around the room away from those wild Fan boys.

" Lol. Good luck--" Hinata laugh but they heard the door slam open after hiiro put down his phone in the table.

"DONT WORRY BROTHER IM GOING TO SAVE YOU!!" and so Hiiro run toward his big brother dorm room.

"Hey no running!" Keito told him off but the younger amagi have a determine look as he quickly apologize and went to his brother room within few minutes.

"....BIG BROTHER!" You three look at the phone as you both heard Hiiro voice spoke as the door slam open to the wall.

"HOLY--" Hiyori and Rinne exclaim as they saw hiiro's hand went throw the door as he slam it open.

"Good gott. Our door is broken!" Hiyori exclaim which made you and Hinata laugh in the other side of the call.

"Oh crap! Your brother is attacking me!" Hiyori shriek and run away from Hiiro who held a pillow and each hit would be a fetal blow to humans. "Oh gosh, I never fear a pillow than today!" He dodge hiiro attack and rinne sneakers as he made made others watch the scene.

"Rinrin! Go help! What if hiiro went for kill?" Your worried now for your new human friend and rinne laugh before he went to grab hold of hiiro and hiiro stops the moment his brother held him. He beam and the dangerous aura around him disappear as he look at his big brother. "Big brother! I love you!'

He quickly says his daily greetings of telling his feelings to his brother. He did hear that it's better to say what you feel today than regret of not saying it too late.

".....pff--" Hinata laugh at Rinne expression and silence.

"Excuse me." A knock in the dorm alarm them.

'oh shit. It's keito!' Hinata and Niki both know it won't end will if keito they sneak in a darling doll! Hinata quickly jump to his bed and open the vent to put you there. "Shhh." Hinata gesture before he close the vent. They both went to entertain keito after they end the call.

"Hmm." You look at them before you look at the clean vent. Very questionable why it's clean like someone seems to go around this. Suddenly the idea of Mayoi using the vent comes in your mind and that Mayoi room probably somewhere connected to this vent and you start walking to a direction and began your journey to find Mayoi's dorm room or maybe Rinne room too. There's Madara and others too! You thought as you walk.

"Pweeh." Hinata and Niki take a deep breath of relief as keito finally left them be to go to Rinne dorm room. "It's ok now, MC--" Hinata went to check the vent and realized he saw no doll around. He close it and open it again and still saw no doll at all. He suddenly felt dread as He felt his gonna get kill by someone!

Been a second, been busy I think.

What's up Tumblr? It's been awhile since I've updated my blog. I don't think I've posted since I experienced what may have been gender euphoria, though the jury's still out on that.

Anyway, so much has happened. I quit my job with my dad, and I started livestreaming again. (twitch.tv/runephantom, I'll shave my beard off when I hit 100 followers). We've been playing FF14 on a new character, Ruhn Elviane. I paid to skip ARR, because I love the story but gods is it a slog. Thinking about doing post ARR just made me dread continuing, so fuck it, we skip and I just grind to level 50. Not like I wasn't already 10 levels ahead of the story, so it won't take long!

Anyway, there's been a lot of emotional labor on my part. Adjusting to having time to do the creative things I want to do is interesting. I started designing an outfit for a heroic version of myself, because why not?

My roommate and I finished Deep Space Nine. I'm honestly so sad for the Sisko family. Imagine being Fated from birth, sacrificing yourself to save a God from the Devil, and missing out on everything and nothing at the same time? And Dax, holy shit. Jadzia did NOT get enough time with Worf. Kira didn't get enough time with Odo, either. I wanted to see them get their happily ever afters, you know? Like O'Brien going and starting an engineering revolution when he goes back to Earth to teach at Starfleet Academy. Julian loses his best friend, Kira loses her love, Quark loses his rival, and they all lost their Emissary.

But Deep Space Nine is like Jazz. Jazz doesn't have happy endings. That's the thing with noir, it's melancholic. There are bright moments, but those are mere rays of sunshine amidst the horrors of war.

I mean shit, Aaron Bushnell immolated himself as a statement against the horrors of war, and what we're doing to the Palestinian people by supporting Israel. Deep Space Nine, in 1997, had Vedek Yassim hang herself with this final statement - "Evil must be opposed."

The image of her hanging, especially against the context of Aaron Bushnell, had me bawling. How is it that an episode written nearly 30 years ago still carries so much weight behind it?

10/10 show, will 1000000000000% watch it again.

So Fenfest weekend is over. The absence of my FC mates that couldn't get tickets was sorely felt but i got to spend one of the best weekends of my life with one of my best friends who also happens to be one of the people I've known the longest in the game. I'm currently sitting at the airport with the sniffles, 2-3 hours in to a 4-5 hour wait for my flight because my friend drove here and had a 7 hour drive ahead of him.

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about this weekend.

I'm excited for Dawntrail. I'm excited to find out what the beginning of our next, what, 10 year journey? Is going to be like. I'm surprised they didn't announce female Hrothgar at this fanfest since Viera were originally announced at the 2018 NA fanfest but I feel like the fact that there are Hrothgar native to Tural all but confirms it, and maybe they're waiting until JP fanfest to officially announce it since that's when they originally announced male Hrothgar back in 2019. Also maybe where they are with the graphics update has something to do with it, because when we *do* get that progress video, you *know* it's going to be with the new graphics, because why bother making it with the old ones?

On the subject of the graphics update, I'm super hyped. When we finally get the benchmark trailer it's going to ruin the live version of the game for me for the rest of the expansion until 7.0 comes out. I'm planning on turning off all of my ReShade filters before servers go down when DT releases and then the first thing I'm doing when servers come back up is turning them back on one by one and seeing which ones I even need anymore. (In an ideal world, I just wouldn't need any of them anymore, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here, especially since my current filters help with my photosensitivity and I don't think anything has been said about improved antialiasing?)

I'm excited to find out what the new jobs will be. My prediction for months now has been a caster DPS and a melee DPS that uses scouting gear, because right now NIN is the only job in the game that doesn't share gear with anyone and DRG not sharing gear with anyone was the rational they gave for RPR using maiming gear.

My personal guess is the caster will be Geomancer. Back before Stormblood released, Yoshi-P did an interview where he mentioned that they had been considering an "Onmyoji-like" job before settling on RDM instead. At the time, the interviewer thought it might have been Oracle, but then SB came out and the the Geomancers in the AST job quests are onmyoji in all but name, so I'm pretty sure that's what the scrapped job job was. And the devs have a history of taking scrapped ideas and implanting them at a later time: Samurai was originally considered to be the tank in Heavensward (iirc the went with DRK at least in part because Yoshi-P didn't want SAM to be a tank). They considered Viera for the new race in HW (this is part of why people were so upset when we originally only got female Viera, because we knew concept art for male Viera existed and had seen it years before), before they decided to go with the FFXIV-original race of the Au Ra instead. So it wouldn't be surprising at all if the new caster ended up being that scrapped job from SB that sounded an awful lot like GEO. Assuming the TMNT shirt is hinting at the melee job, maybe it'll be something using nanchaku?

I know a lot of people are speculating Corsair because of what we've seen of Derplander so far in the trailers, and the whole the idea that he's one of the new jobs to mark the beginning of a new adventure is valid (and the fact that his outfit is being hidden by a robe the entire trailer lends credence to this) I think it's important to remember that the only expansion where he has ever been a job newly added to the expansion, it was also the only expansion where he was two jobs, the other one being one that had been in the game since ARR. What we've seen of his outfit may not even be a hint, because it reminds me a lot of his 6.1 outfit that we got as glamour. Based on the fact that we saw him fighting with a sword and no shield, I want to guess RDM (I know Alisaie is already our resident RDM, but...), but it's also entirely possible that when the full trailer comes out we're going to see him toss aside the sword and pull out a different weapon entirely (of the tanks, the only one he hasnt been yet is GNB, which I think would be a good fit for this expansion because of the Hrothgar connection. The only two melee DPS he hasnt been are NIN and RPR, which Indont think fit so well, but maybe he'll step out of his melee comfort zone and give magic ranged or phys ranged a try? Aesthetically I could see MCH being a good fit for this expansion...) The next 6 months are going to be very interesting.

Two Dyes! Two Dyes! Two Dyes!

(I wonder of us being able to use two dyes will affect what new gear looks like. Crafted leveling gear and some dungeon gear, like the first dungeon of the expansion and the dungeons added on even numbered patches, has always included gear that was reskins of previously added gear; in the past the could get away with this because it would dye a different part of the outfit or the color of the undyable part would he different. It'll be interesting to see how this gets handled going forward.)

I'm excited for next patch. I think people are overblowing the impact the change to alliance raid roulette will actually have. Like...yes, it'll prevent people from ilv cheering, which will be a huge help. But there are still a lot of people who only have the Crystal Tower raids unlocked because it's required for MSQ.

I can't wait to dump cash shop stuff into my aromoir; unfortunately until they make it so we can dye items in the armoir and *keep* them that color, it's largely going to only be items that can't he dyed and stuff that I don't actually use that goes in there. Should still be a huge help though and it'll open up some retainer space, since that's where I currently keep cash shop items I don't use.

I'm excited to see where MSQ goes (I'm willing to bet money we're going to take all that light aspected aether on the First and Dark aspects aether on the Thirteenth and find a way to connect the two worlds to balance things out. Did Zero turn herself into a Memoria crystal and we just carried her to the First in our pocket?)

Also very excited for the new Varient dungeon. I'm willing to bet money that Asura is actually one of the bosses from the Varient/ Criterion Dungeon. This might even be why people found the fight so easy, because it was effectively an 8 person version of a 4 person fight. I'm kinda having flashbacks to Protoultima and the expectations vs reality of that.

Then again, she had voiced lines, so maybe I'm way off and this is a second 6.5 trial (the first one being Zeromus). I just hope this isn't a repeat of Yojimbo with her being tied to Hildibrand. Then again, as my friend pointed out, she does have multiple arms...

The piano concert was great. Amanda Achen has pipes. I spent the last two years wondering what zone's music Soken was going to adapt to otomoton and now I'm kidding myself because the answer seems so obvious.

The Primals concert was great, but I wish I'd brought ear plugs. I've been expecting a Primals version of Hic Svnt Leones ever since I first heard it and it didn't happen, which shocked me. What we *did* get was a Primals version of Scream and now I'm torn, because Koji's version was incredible, but I would also kill to hear a Primals version of that song where Amanda does the singing.

We were also lucky enough to get tickets for the Eorzean Symphony and it was amazing. I cried. Back during the digital fanfest I mourned because I thought I'd never get a chance to hear the ShB music performed live, but last night they played Shadowbringers and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and now I feel...idk, healed? I cried ugly tears during Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Maybe it's because it's my favorite song in the entire game, or maybe it's because of the cold, but I'm getting a bit weepy right now even just thinking back on it.

Overall, it was an incredible weekend. I'm glad I went, and hopefully two years from now, I'll be able to go again (preferably with more of/ all of my FC). Or like...we'll all take a FC vacation together or go to to someone's house and watch the stream together while eating pancakes. We'll see what the future brings.

Was thinking of going Raiden what with all my Ironworks and Scaevan gear usually kept for the Castum based battles, but it was standing out too much for the Garlean aid theme, the concept behind it was "Out of contol lightup Magitek armour running amok, scares Garleans more than spikey goth armour" Will have to apologise to Cid for using his tech to scare people.

I even prepared an outfit for Zenos and it ain't even Nanomachines. Everybody is getting Ocelot gear because its just easier when I can't Raiden and Nier denied me Liquid's coat.... Excuse me while I check the chance of Zenos-WoL getting a Liquid theme outfit.

Since Metal Gear was English to me. I'm not using the JP cast for this trip. Unless we can Ghost in the shell?

I don't feel like bullying Emmanellain, the whole Ala Mihgo gathering, it felt like Thancred was staring at Emmanellain. I have this headcannon that because of how cleaned up and suave Thancred now looks, Emmanellain does not recognised him but is mildy wary of Thancred.

And what with Emmanellain trying to hide behind WoL/looking for a friendly face. His brother's friends Aymeric and Estinien are probably too intimidating for him. He knows he out of his league in a room full of badasses. He may be an idiot but he's her idiot brother now.

Thancred, being Thancred the social butterfly that I know him to be since ARR. Drawing in G'raha to the team(also possibly why Urianger sticks to him, post ShB shitstorm) and Estinien has no complaints. He's in charge of the socially awkward people. So him, Lucia, Yugiri and Riol makes up quite a big intel network. Lahabrea picked the right guy to possess after all.

ITS A REALLY GREAT ANIME AND IT HAS SOME OF THE BEST CHARACTER WRITING I HAVE EVER SEEN. IT IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF MY TOP FAVE ANIMES EVER

idk how old you are (or the age of anyone possibly reading this) so i feel i should say Osomatsu-san has a lot of mature themes and is CLEARLY meant for a more mature audience of the adult/college age/MAYBE later teen variety

as of right now there is no dub Viz Media, who most recently did the redub of sailor moon (AND ITS FANTASTIC BTW SO IT GIVES ME HIGH HOPES FOR MATSUS), had sent out a tweet saying that the dub was going to be released some time in October of this year but …nothing happened?? my buddy @arr-jim-lad even contacted them about it, and they responded that there were no updates to mention. ://///SO right now sub is all we got haha

ITS REALLY GOOD THO SO ITS NOT LIKE A NEGATIVE OR ANYTHING BC THESE VOICE ACTORS ARE AMAZINGdef my fave voice actors of any sub ive watched (and ive watched quite a few)

one of my fave aspects of this show is that after a few eps, despite them all having the same face, it becomes VERY EASY to tell them apart haha this is part of why the character writing is so strong imo!

but here’s a few tips and tricks to look for just in case you cant tell right away!

the easiest thing to get the hang of first when it comes to noticing the matsus is def their designated colors! Even when theyre not in their trademark hoodies they can usually be seen wearing their colors somewhere on themselves so if you cant tell who’s who right away LOOK FOR THE COLORS!!

if theyre all wearing matching outfits you can look at their hair shinies bc they’ll usually be their color when nothing else is! (tho those are a bit more subtle in coloring bc ..well..shinies haha)

the hyper-active, forever smiling, incredibly powerful, baseball boy! if something weird and crazy is going on jyushimatsu is either directly involved or about to be. he’s always laughing, smiling and making weird jokes/noises. a very sweet boy who is entirely too powerful. He often dresses as animals, and is used as an “attack dog” to torture whichever brother he’s commanded to (usually oso). A very unpredictable boy to say the least. Its hard to imagine an ooc version of him bc there isnt much he would not do or say.HE IS MY FAVE BEST SUNSHINE BOY

neutral expression: 8Dvoice: lowest pitch of the bros but also the loudest, often making weird/nonsensical sounds/noises such as: BBBBOEHBA!! 8Dquirks: - often goes cross eyed - is incredibly strong, can lift and throw his adult brothers like nbd - never has eye shinies in the anime unless he’s about to cry - wears shorts when everyone else is wearing pants, also some times wears a traffic cone on his head- wiggly arms and sleeves too long (even when its not the hoodie, usually his sleeves are always too long haha)- only one hair sticking out on the top of his head

the designated darkmatsu, ichi is the slow moving, constantly slouching, quietest boy who thinks cats are way better than people. the least motivated matsu, even going out to do fun things (like drinking or gambling) is some times too much trouble. for him a good time is laying on the floor and thinking about death (and also cats). a fan of torture, if the situation calls for causing trauma he’s suddenly very talkative and plays w his voice a lot. he is the second brother (after my boy jyushi) that is often called upon when one of the other brothers (or anyone) needs to be tortured. i love this boy and he is good to my fave boy god bless suujimatsu

neutral expression: B(voice: usually very low, slow and monotone quirks: - eyes always half lidded, no shinies - always slouched- messy hair (some times w cat ears)- only bro to wear track pants (w the line on the side)- has a diff cat in his lap almost every ep, but does not actually own one- two hairs sticking out on the top of his head

the resident brother mom and a total idol otaku, choromatsu isnt concerned w much else besides his idol obsession and proving he’s way more responsible than his brothers. he often walks todomatsu to the bathroom at night and waits for him to finish since youngest bro is scared of the dark (reminder theyre both grown men in their 20′s). he thinks he’s better suited to be the oldest brother and leader rather than osomatsu and even points it out once, with agreements from both todomatsu and ichimatsu.if anything crazy happens choro is the first to scream about it not being ok. he’s got the strongest will of all the brothers and can never be persuaded to change his mind about a situation. he’s not a fighter at all and usually chooses to stay on the sidelines even if he agrees w whatever the bros are fighting about (killing god for instance).he’s under constant stress bc he’s pretending to do his best while his brothers are terrible i love him give this poor green man a vacation

neutral expression: :voice: higher pitched, not as high as todo but still higher among the bros, and usually using it to yell @ brosquirks: - smallest pupils, no shinies (in the anime)- usually has a worried expression- wears plaid a lot- is irritated almost all the time - wont look for a job bc he’s determined to be an idol manager- no hairs sticking out on top of his head

THE TRASH KING BROTHER!!!!i kid, i kid sort ofimplying that the matsus are not all trash boys is just a joke tbqhfor me osomatsu was absolutely the hardest bro to recognize when i first watched the show, and i think the biggest tip i can give for him is just to look for the red boy scratching under his nose. also the boy who looks like he would buy and sell you. he’s a pretty brilliant con man and a good fighter too, but his laziness outweighs anything that he could possibly achieve in. he’s absolute trash but in a way still lovable?? OH ACTUALLY if youre familiar w the anime Lupin the Third just look for the brother that makes the most Lupin-esque faces he’s got that classic-anime-comedy-male-lead look more than any of the other bros so that might help you recognize him!
